christmas

With the Christmas season drawing to a close, I love to spend a little time out with the people I love and nothing beats mine and Sam's annual boxing day walk up Butser Hill, followed by a pot of lunch and a chilled evening.

A pretty chilly walk to the top

birthday

Christmas eve, eve isn't just a special day because its nearly Christmas - the 23rd of December is my birthday! This year I turned 17 and had a lovely day with my boyfriend in Winchester but I thought I would share with you just a few photos from this special day.

I was pretty pleased with my eye liner that day too.

It also happened to be a wet and windy day and we were going to go ice skating but it was cancelled - i wonder why.
Thank you for all the birthday whishes, I had a lovely day!

twinkle

As the Christmas season approaches, its a time I like to spend going back to myself and chilling (a little) but mostly being a nearly 17-year-old who simply cant wait for it to be christmas again - YAY! While the last year seems to have gone incredibly quickly it feels like ages since the last Christmas, and I had even forgotten what our christmas tree looks like. But now its up and the house is feeling a little more cosy, I feel very happy!

Its just the house that is feeling a little more festive, its me too, and I like to show this through little things, like my christmas socks, or my festive nail polish. So it's time I shared with you one that will definitely be on my favourites list this month.
I am loving the Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days nail polish. I picked it up from Boots for about £4.99 which I thought was really cheap, in the shade 820 - Winner takes it all. Its a really lovely gold colour and it is so easy to apply, in one simple stoke, with only 2 layers too. It gives a really nice smooth finish and it is so effortless, and drys really quickly too. The gold colour is obviously a more Christmas colour but it such a lovely shade, and it will look great on fingers or toes!

A Guide To: Travelling

In a previous post I wrote, I showed you how to pack for your Summer adventures. This post, I am sharing with you a few tips which are essential when travelling either by flight, sea or land.
Firstly make sure you are dressed comfortable. You don't want to be stuck for hours in super tight jeans which are digging in a top you cant breath in. I like to go for something light and easy like leggings, a bright vest top or t-shirt with a scarf.
The scarf is a great item to have when travelling because it can also double over a blanket.
Shoe wise, depending on the time of year, I alternate between pumps and trainers - easy to slip on and off and look good too. I also like to think about where I am going to be arriving, if its a muddy festival in the summer, rubber flip flops which are washable will do. But if it is a cold place in the winter, then boots or good trainers will do.
I like to have a little handbag with me when I am travelling. I can use it at the other end for a day bag too which is handy. Make sure you are well hydrated and always have a big bottle of water with you. Snack are also an essential for travelling as food on the road can be a bit suspect and expensive.
Always keep your purse, credit cards, ID, passport and booking information with you. You need this handy anyway, and if you lost it, that would be a disaster. Another things is something which I only carry with me because I lose it right till I leave the house and also because if I lost this, it too would be a disaster - phone chargers, iPod chargers, and Laptop chargers.
Finally, you need something to keep you busy while you are travelling. Whether it is a good book, a game, your iPod or you laptop, keep that with you. Nothing beats being bored for hours!
Now where ever you go this summer you are prepared to have a great time all the way. Unless you forget something like I will......

A Guide to: Packing

Its that time of the year again - holidays! And just like everyone else I have my holidays too, but mine is to a Christian Festival for 2 weeks in England. None the less, I am super excited for my holiday even if it is in England still. But packing is still an essential and it is still a let down for me nearly every year.
Until now when I came up with a little guide for packing a suitcase for your 2 weeks wherever you are going.

         CLOTHES
  • Black and White vest tops
  • Pretty floral tops
  • T-shirts
  • A Skirt
  • A Dress
  • A shirt or Cardigan (wear as a pull over)
  • Pairs of Jeans (wear them again and again)
  • Leggings
  • Tights
  • Tracksuit bottoms (Stay Fit)
  • pair of Pyjamas
  • Hoodies or Jumpers (even if you are going somewhere hot you might still need them)
  • Waterproof Coat (Again, you might need it where ever you are going)
  •  Bathing Suits (or one if you are going somewhere cooler)
          SHOES
  • Flip Flops (Rubber and Washable)
  • Sandals
  • Flats
  • Wellies (festivals and wet places only)
  • Trainers (Running and everyday)
          TOILETRIES
  • Shampoo and Conditioner (or my No Poo substitutes)
  • Shower Gel
  • Tooth paste and Tooth Brush
  • Deodorant
  • Everyday Perfume
  • Shaver and Shaving foam (2 weeks is a long time)
  • Vaseline
  • Make-Up
  • Sun Cream (SPF 15+)
  • A Face Cream
  • Body Moisturizer
  • Towel
  • Flanel
  • Face Wash

         OTHER
  • A Belt
  • Sunglasses
  • scarf
  • Great pairs of earrings
  • Blanket
  • Notebook and Pen
         CAMPING ESSENTIALS
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Pillow
  • Blow Up Mattress

THINGS I FORGET AND REALLY SHOULDN'T
  • UNDERWEAR
  • SOCKS
  • TOOTH BRUSH

Once you have everything you will need the tricky bit of cramming it into your suit case will commence if it hasn't already.
I always put my toiletires into a little bag and put them in first as they are quite often the heaviest.
I start out with the bigger stuff like coats, hoodies, shoes and jeans. I roll them up as small as I can. And really tightly push them into corners. Shoes I put into a plastic bag and try to put into the top lid part of my suit case.
Then I do the same with my tops and t-shirts. Roll them up and fit them into the other gaps.
The last few things I put in is the underwear as it is the smallest and can fit into the smallest gaps.
Then I go for the others, the essentials but not necessitates like the belts and earrings.
If you are taking any jewelry, flatten them out onto a scarf and roll up. This will keep them from getting tangled up and knotty while you are traveling.

Next Step: Travelling.

Prommmmm!!!!

Aloha!
Ahhh, I can't believe I have now totally finished school forever, and I am sooo looking forward to going to College. But until then, it is Prom which is an even bigger 'Ahh'. With dress, shoes, clutch and transport all sorted out, the major problem is deciding what to do with my hair, make-up and nails. Thank goodness for the summer holidays and all this time so I can experiment!
So to make things easier for those of my like you struggling, I have put together a little guide for the perfect look that is natural, beautiful and glamorous and will see you through your whole night.

1. Foundation Brush - The Body Shop
2. Lip Gloss - Mac
3. Everything Mascara - Bobbi Brown
4. Blusher Brush - Bobbi Brown
5. Eye Shadow Brush - Bobbi Brown
6. Kohl Eye Pencil(202 blackened pewter) - Clinique
7. Foundation (030 sand) - Maybelline
8. Blusher (02 bashful) - Collection 2000
9. Eye shadow (5 rosy gold) - Collection 2000
10. Eye Shadow (3 Baked Bronze) - Collection 2000

Above is a list off all the colours, products and brands of the make-up I shall be using in correlation to the numbers in the picture....that word is too fancy for me!
Anyway, once you have washed, cleansed and toned your skin, you should be ready for the first step which is to apply the foundation to your skin. I love the Dream Matte Mouse Foundation by Maybelline. I have been using it for over a year now and find it so creamy and soft and gives such great coverage and looks really natural and blend in so well with my skin tone. I use it everyday and it last for months!
Once the foundation is applied, I apply the eye shadow. With the Collection 2000 it hasn't got very good pigmentation in it, so you need to apply a few layers before you start to notice it. Apply the lighter colour first, below the brow and in the corner of the eye. Then apply the darker colour on just the lid.
Because you have this colour on it already, you don't want to go any heavier on the eye make-up by applying a liquid liner, so to keep it simpler, use a Kohl Eye Pencil. This still gives the same definition but in a nicer and softer look to the eye.
Finish the eyes off by curling them a few times before applying Mascara to them. I got given the Bobbi Brown 'Everything Mascara' as a present, and I love it. It give great length and definition to eyes and really exaggerates the length of them.
After that, a apply a soft layer of Blush to the apple of your cheeks. If you don't know what your apple is, move your mouth into your cheek (if that makes sense) and the apple should be quite clear to see as it stands out. The Collection 2000 blusher that I use has a really high pigmentation so you only need the smallest amount. The blusher needs to be quite subtle so don't go over board on only apply the one layer.
Finally and the most important one I think - and the only one you are allowed to keep applying all night - the lip gloss. This is every girls best friend, and it really completes the look and makes it look really sophisticated, and softens the lips. You can have any colour you want but pick co-ordinate it with your dress. I the dress is a bright red, blue, or black, go red. If it softer and creamers go for a gentle rosy pink like me.

Have a great prom guys and enjoy the night!
See you later peeps x
